New Doll and Doll pin

Here is a doll a creative from a 12 item exchange and challenge. I received 12 different items to use in a doll.

Here is the doll I made from the items adding my own body fabric and animal fur. This is a pattern by Michelle Munzone called Queen Purrsha.

This is the pin I made for this month's pin doll swap. The theme is circus performer. I chose the performing elephant. I have never been to a circus but like elephants. The pin from trunk tip to bottom of stand is 5 1/2 inches.

Forgot finished Pinocchio

Here is a piccie of my finished challenge quilt. My friend Mona made the fabulous picture frame border and quilted it. She said if I would do the challenge, she would quilt it! The Pinocchio doll is holding a bead banner that says, 'I am a real boy'!

Quilt Show and Testing Doll

Well, one quilt show down and one to go! This last weekend was Foothill guild's show. I went on Friday to preview night. They have lots of munchies and the guild gets to see all the quilts before the public. I had to count ballots with my friend Mona. Sat I worked a three hour shift at the info desk and Sunday I got to see the doll exhibit. I had two dolls in that. Didn't get any pics as I forgot my camera! This was also the show with my Pinocchio quilt on display.

I finished testing 'Treasures of the Deep' for Colleen Babcock. She has done it again. It is a fabulous pattern with all sorts of little techniques in it. Here are a few pics.

doll pin and other stuff

This is a pin I made for this month's swap. I forgot to take a pic of the card I that I copied for the pin. That is what I had to do is make a pin like a St. Patrick's day card.
I am also adding some stuff to the Pinocchio quilt and will take a pic of it when finished with it's fabulous border that my friend Mona added on for me!

This is a ceramic bunny I made for my quilt guild secret sister. She collects bunnies and her favorite colors are burgandy and gold. I painted the ceramic parts.

This is a quilt I made for the guild challenge....."It's a Guy's World". We had to make a quilt for a teenage boy. They are all being donated to teenage boys in need. it is 60" X 80". I thought colorful would be good for any troubled or in need soul.

Fairy Tale Quilt Challenge

Here is a quilt I made for a quilt guild challenge. Our theme is Fairy Tale and my saying is "There is no excuse not to dream". I picked Pinocchio as I thought if a wooden puppet can dream of becoming a real boy than anyone can dream anything!
I used a woven technique for the bed quilt. It is fabric that has fusible on it. Two different fabrics are woven then fused together.

This is the little 9" doll that goes into the dream cloud. He is the real boy!

I have also been going thru my fabrics and such looking for stuff to donate for an autions one of my quilt guilds is having this month. I found quite a bit of "why did I buy this" fabric to donate! LOL

Valentines/friendship swap

This is the heart pillow I made for my partner Kate. I used ols laces, hankies and trims in a crazy quilt type style. I also gave her some fabric.

Here is what Kate sent to me. She lives in Australia!

The package of Buderim Beast poo is chocolate covered peanuts!! What a kick! The pink and green items she made for me herself. The magazine Kate sent has a project that her and her partner made for that issue. The kitty calendar is soooo cute!!

It has been awhile since I posted. I am going to be making quilts for the next month and a half. Here are a few things I have made and some I recieved in the last month.


Here is the pin I made for this month's pindoll swap. We had to make a pin based on a Valentine card.


Here are two valentines I recieved in a swap. They are beaded beatifully! They are by LaQuinta Tummings.

These are some wool felt pincushions I have made to donate to the boutique at our quilt guild's quilt show in April.

This is a doll I made for a challenge. It is the Becky pattern by Rivkah Rosenfeld and is a cloth replica of an old Arranbee doll.
