Pins and Dotees

This is the pin I made for my partner for the month of May on Pin Doll Alley. The theme was favorite candy. I always have loved licorice and had to give it up when I became diabetic. I think chocolate will always be my favorite as I still eat it but wanted to pay homage to licorice!

Here are the pins for June. I have two partners this month. The theme is bejeweled brooch. I put on lots of sparkly beads and baubles!
Hope the ladies are going to like them.

The wonderful pinkish Dotee was made by Julie Gausvik. Can you see the face? The fabulous blue one was made by Betsy Orlando. Thank you so much ladies, I will treasure them.

Hoffman Challenge Doll

Here is Fawna!

I finally finished my Hoffman Challenge. I have been working on her for a couple of weeks. Part of the challenge this year was using Sulky thread if you chose. I used it throughout the piece. She has a Metallic Sulky thread vest and butterfly. It was used to scrunch sew the fabric for the skirt and sleeves which is the actual challenge fabric. It is used on the organza flowers and there are strands in her hair. Since it was metallic I did bobbin work so there was less breakage.

this is the scruching of the fabric. I worked from the wrong side so all the metallic thread would be on the outside of the fabric. It is really fun looking!

Here is the finished bag. Inside and out!

This is a bag I am making for the lady who runs the guild's secret sister program. She never gets a partner and always steps in if something happens and someone has to drop out. She is such a sweet heart I wanted to make something for her. The charm squares make the outside and is quilted and the handles and the inside is the circles and dots with a stiffner on the back. The big circles are the pocket fabric. Will post a pic when it is finished.

baby quilt

My niece had a baby boy last week. Derrick! He is a little cutie and such a mellow baby. This is the quilt I made for him. The theory is that red, black, and white are very stimulating for babies brains. It makes a cute quilt!

Bunny doll

This is the bunny doll I have made for my secret sister who I give gifts.

I made this doll as a present for the secret sister who gives me gifts. Our revealing is this month. She is a hanging doll. The pattern is by Mary Tressler.

I have also finished the doll for my secret sister who I give gifts too. Haven't got any photos of her yet but will try to get some today.

Here are some of the quilts from my guilds quilt show at the end of April.

It turned out really well and we had great attendance.

I was there for three days. Fri we put up the quilts and Sat and Sun were the show and I worked it both days.

I was really proud of all the quilts (we had over 200)

This was our featured quilter. Betty Cavalluchi. She is our guild president this year and does fabulous work.
