This is a picture of a doll I have done before. It is a Patti Culea pattern from Soft Dolls and Animals May 2002 issue. I am making one like it for a lady's daughter. I really love this pattern. I cut out and sewed the flesh parts today and have to find out what color the lady wants the tail and fins and flukes. Batiks are my fabric of choice for this doll even though I love using the doe suede for most of my dolls. I will use my Jaquard dyes to dye the body and arms to match the fabric I choose for the rest of her. She will get embellished with lots of bead and fun fur yarn for hair.

dog sitting
This is my best friend's doggie that I have been dog sitting for the past week. My friend goes to folk dance camp for two weeks every summer and I watch her doggie Shatzi. Isn't she cute!!!
I am going to start on another swap item I need to make today. As you can see I love swaps. I am making a mermaid. Will post pics when it is done!
a busy Saturday
My hubby went camping today so I took off to do some shopping. I got a new foam pad for the bed. Bought some gifts for an Advent exchange I am in and got some fabric. I also opened my Christmas in July pressies in a swap from one of my Yahoo groups. Here is a pic of all the great stuff.
I also finished my swap doll for Wilma from the Etta Mae pattern by Kate Erbach. here is the link: http://www.dollmakersjourney.com/freepatterns.html
Rose Gibbons made one for me in this swap. Here is a picture of both of them. The one Rose made for me is in floral with black hair. The one I made for Wilma is in blue with wild color hair.
I also made a Christmas in July pin for a swap in one of my Yahoo groups. It is a Christmas Kitty!

My blog!!!!
Well, I have joined the blogging generation. This is my first post and I haven't much time. I am a clothdoll artist and I also love to quilt. Here are a few pics of my work.
The second pic is my daughter Samantha in the wedding dress I made for her. She was maried June 30th and now I am an empty nester as both daughters are now married.
The first pic is a doll I made from a Lynn Butcher pattern called Leura. I will post more later.
hugs Karen
